Who We Are

Shore Design is a family-run, multidisciplinary waterfront land use planning and design company. At our core, we are a group of passionate professionals working together to create successful projects.

Our Story

I founded Shore Design to balance my professional and personal life and provide people-focused service. My grandfather built a home with an attached professional office that he practiced from until retirement. My family then moved in, which allowed my father to operate his practice from the same office. Although I don't have the privilege of running Shore Design from the same family office in New Hampshire, I'm fortunate to share business operations with family.

After a childhood that included rebuilding boats and working on house projects with my father, I earned a degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. My early professional experience came from working at various environmental companies and government agencies. The 16+ years prior to starting Shore Design were focused on managing coastal design projects for a consulting company. Along the way, I earned a Master in Architecture with a thesis on waterfront development; a concept I called Shore Design Workshop.

What Makes Us Different

Shore Design combines the fields of architecture, environmental health/science, maritime studies, and regulatory policy to specialize in waterfront land use planning and design. We operate as a hybrid business, leveraging the benefits of a physical office and a remote team to assemble top talent based on the needs of each project. This overall model allows us to provide high value professional services while operating with greater flexibility.
