About the Role

This role supports the design and documentation of active waterfront projects throughout Connecticut.

You’ll use Revit to prepare site plans, permit drawings, design drawings, details, and construction documents based on survey information, field documentation, sketches, and established company standards.

You’ll work closely with the project architect and project coordinator. Over time, you’ll take increasing ownership of drawing production, Revit standards, and quality control.

This role is best suited for someone early to mid-career who has practical Revit experience and enjoys technical drawing production.

You may have a background in architecture, engineering, construction, drafting, or a related field. More important, you are careful, dependable, comfortable receiving feedback, and motivated to improve.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain Revit models for waterfront and select architectural projects
• Prepare existing-conditions, design, permit, and construction drawings
• Translate sketches, markups, survey information, and field documentation into clear plans
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, and drawing sheets
• Incorporate internal, client, consultant, and agency comments
• Review your own work for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain organized models and consistent drawing standards
• Identify missing or conflicting information and raise questions early
• Help improve Revit templates, families, details, and production workflows

About Shore Design

We focus on waterfront design and permitting, including docks, seawalls, living shorelines, marina improvements, tidal wetland access structures, and related coastal projects.

We are a small, focused team where each person contributes meaningfully to project success.

Our work relies on accurate documentation, clear communication, technical coordination, and consistent follow-through.

Background That May Be Helpful

• Architecture, engineering, drafting, construction, or related experience
• Revit-based drawing production
• Site planning or construction documentation
• Experience reading land surveys
• AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Adobe Acrobat experience
• Exposure to point clouds or 3D scanning
• Interest in waterfront, coastal, or site-related design

Waterfront experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation & Structure

• Part-time position at approximately 24-32 hours per week based on company needs
• $30–$34 per hour, based on experience, Revit proficiency, and demonstrated capability
• Primarily in-office, especially during training and onboarding
• A hybrid schedule may become available for the right candidate after they demonstrate strong Revit proficiency, reliable communication, consistent accuracy, and the ability to work independently
• Occasional site visits as needed
• Opportunity for increased responsibility and hours as the role develops

This role is based in Guilford, CT. Candidates should be located within approximately 25 minutes to support consistent in-person collaboration, site visits, and long-term integration with the team.
