Attention Project Manager

Fast-growing Connecticut design firm seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Project Manager to bring structure, clarity, and forward momentum to complex projects.

This ensures clients, agencies, and internal teams experience consistent progress and confident execution.

Important: Rockstars Only

This role isn’t for you if:

  • You need constant direction to do your work
  • You prefer routine over problem-solving
  • You avoid difficult communication or decision-making
  • You struggle to manage multiple priorities at once
  • You are uncomfortable speaking in public or representing projects

Still reading? Great. You might be exactly who we need.

The right person is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership. You bring structure to complexity, communicate clearly, and keep projects moving forward without constant direction. You’ll play a key role in a focused, high-performing team that values clarity, professionalism, and accountability.

What You Want

  • A meaningful, flexible role that fits your lifestyle and strengths
  • To be trusted for your reliability and follow-through
  • To support great work and great people — without corporate nonsense
  • To be appreciated for keeping things on track
  • To contribute to something you believe in, while keeping your calm

(You might even be someone returning to work or shifting from another chapter — like a stay-at-home parent ready for work that fits your life and skills.)

Who We Need

  • You bring structure and clarity to complex, fast-moving projects
  • You take ownership and follow through without needing constant direction
  • You communicate clearly and professionally with clients, agencies, and team members
  • You identify gaps, solve problems, and keep work moving forward
  • You value accuracy, organization, and consistent progress

What You’ll Do

  • Own project communication with clients, agencies, and consultants
  • Prepare for and present projects to public commissions and regulatory boards
  • Coordinate internal production and ensure deliverables are complete and accurate
  • Track progress, priorities, and next steps across multiple projects
  • Identify risks early, make decisions, and maintain consistent forward momentum
  • Maintain clear, organized project information so nothing is missed

Job Type: Hybrid, Part-Time (25-32 hours/week)

Location: In-person training in Guilford, CT, with flexible remote structure once established (~70% remote, ~20% in-office, ~10% field/meetings)

Compensation: $35–$45/hr depending on experience (approx. $58–75k/year for 25–32 hrs/week)

Growth: Potential for additional hours and expanded responsibilities as the firm grows and you thrive in the role

Description

This isn’t an administrative role. It’s a project ownership role.

You are responsible for keeping complex projects moving forward, bringing structure to uncertainty, and ensuring communication, coordination, and decisions happen at the right time.

Your work directly impacts whether projects progress smoothly or stall. You create clarity where there are moving parts, align clients, agencies, and internal teams, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

You’ll start by learning project types, permitting processes, and internal systems, then quickly step into managing communication, coordination, and project flow with increasing independence. The ability to learn quickly and apply new information in real time is essential in this role.

As Shore Design continues to grow, this role can evolve into a senior Project Manager position with greater ownership across multiple projects and increasing responsibility in how work is delivered.

There’s no fixed ceiling. Your growth will come from your ability to take ownership, learn quickly, make sound decisions, and consistently move work forward.

About Shore Design, PLLC

Shore Design is a specialized architecture and permitting firm focused on Connecticut’s waterfront. We help property owners, developers, and municipalities design, permit, and manage coastal improvements, from docks and seawalls to shoreline restoration.

Our work sits at a complex intersection of regulatory, environmental, and design challenges. We bring structure, clarity, and forward progress to projects that would otherwise stall in that complexity.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, bringing order to moving parts, and seeing projects move forward because of your work, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful and visible impact.
